Hope for Haiti Project
Hope for Haiti is a project consisting of various recording artists, songwriters, producers, engineers and performers from Chicago, Atlanta and the San Francisco Bay area committed to helping the earthquake relief effort in Haiti, through music and faith based relief efforts.

The project was spearheaded shortly after the earthquake by Nate and Don Griffin, owner of VMR Studios in Chicago, with inspiration from Nate's close Hatian friends, saxophonist Marcel Jean of Zzaje and Jean Pierre Louis, a member of the US State Department under Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. 



Hearing stories of Jean Pierre's visits to the region as well as stories from Fr. Freddie Washington of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chicago inspired me to donate my time and efforts to this project.  I am so appreciative of the artists who contributed to the project thus far, including Phenom (Chicago-based battle rap champion), M. Brando (San Francisco Bay Area rapper), Zzaje (top Chicago live-band collective), Haywood and Angelica Tucker (Atlanta based father-daughter production duo), Dave Herrero (top Chicago blues artist), Mike Gallagher (Chicago singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist), Deanna Dawn (Atlanta-based singer/actress), Frank Walton (Seattle by way of Chicago beatmaker), and Walt Cunningham (Chicago gospel producer).

We plan to launch the project close to the first anniversary of the quake.   Stay tuned for additional artist participation and upcoming shows to support the effort.  If you would like to make an artistic contribution to the project (songs, beats, etc.), get at me!!!!
